IF you were hungry, or had hungry kids to feed and you had no job and no income, your tone wouldnt be so high headed. That cheese being shipped out of the country will go to military bases around the world. The farmers dont like this crap any better than you do, but no one asked us either. However, that subsistence is direct to the producer and to the consumer, all Americans. Ever been hungry, really hungry, or had hungry kids?
Then why don't we just have the government buy $1 billion in cheese? I mean if $60 million is good $1 billion is surely better right?
Just today I had to go to the hardware store to pick up some things because my basement flooded from snow melt. We're middle class and times get tight, but we pay for our own way. While at the hardware store my wife called me and asked me to pick up some baby food for our youngest. I'm trying to figure out how much I can buy with the cash in my pocket ($9). I'm trying to think of anything else we can cut back on. We went light on Christmas for our two kids and only got practical household essentials for each other.... and now my basement is full of water; just when I thought we might get ahead.
Happily I found a box of baby food for $7.99 that was equivalent to getting two jars free. I'm grateful for saving a dollar. At the checkout counter a single mother is standing there impatiently waiting for the cashier to finish grabbing all of the remaining cans of Infamil (formula) onto the counter and ring them up. 9 cans. $13.31 per can.... roughly $113 or so. The single mother, who can barely keep her tongue ring in her mouth, hands the cashier two WIC vouchers and doesn't pay a cent out of pocket. But its still a grievance she has to wait for the cashier to type in the voucher dates.... precious moments this girl has to wait for her "free" groceries that she's entitled to.
Why? Because you and I paid for it and we allow it. The rest of us clip coupons and scrape by because 50% of everything we make is taken from us at gun point. Why? So the government can be ever so generous and reward failure. They steal the money from us and give it to those "less fortunate". The lazy, the promiscuous, and the irresopnsible. And then because that's not enough they ship it overseas to out-and-out socialist countries to feed their lazy, promiscuous, and irresponsible.
The government's primary responsibility of defending us? That's the first program cut when push comes to shove. We spend more on Social Security than Iraq and Afghanistan COMBINED. We spend more on Medicare/Medicaid than Iraq and Afghanistan COMBINED. And now 0 wants to increase other welfare prorams even more. Americans all accross the nation are losing their jobs.... realisticly 17% of employable Americans are out of work. But, that doesn't stop welfare recipients WHO HAVE NEVER HAD A JOB from getting a raise. And where is the incentive to get another job? The benefits for unemployment run 72 weeks and there is talk of extending them even longer.... FYI THAT'S MORE THAN A YEAR TO NOT WORK!!!!! And then were going to pass cap and trade and charge on average $3500 a household per year in energy taxes. Unless of course you're low income.... No then you'll receive a subsidy from the government. Surely you wouldn't want people to live in the dark. I mean we could have all the cheap clean power we could ever ask for if only the envirowhackos would allow us to open more nuclear power plants..... nope lets just charge more and give it away; out of the government's good heart of course
Lets just get it over with and give it all away. Why bother being charitable and having churches and soup kitchens (rhetorical)? That's what we've got the government for. Why should I work? Because someone else's kids are hungry? Because somebody living in a failed socialist counrty has hungry kids? Who then will feed my kids? "Ever had hungry kids?"
We grew up on macaroni and cheese, spaghetti, ramen noodles, peanut butter and jelly because it was the cheapest food money could buy. No, we didn't starve. But my parents never took a handout. They just worked harder. They worked longer hours. When that didn't cut it, my mother and father saved money and my mother went to school. She got a better job. We moved out of the trailer park. We got nicer clothes, and we got better food. Sure, they still looked for deals and used coupons BUT THEY DID IT ON THEIR OWN!!!!
This is America. This is supposed to be the greatest country on earth. You have the greatest opportunities in the world if you'll only put forth effort, ingenuity, and use a little bit of responsibility. But by golly you are allowed to fail. No man should have to work unwillingly for the benefit of another THAT'S SLAVERY. With out risk and without the right to fail you remove the need for ingenuity and inovation. You remove incentive. There'd wouldn't be cars or airplanes. There wouldn't be steel for building or nuclear power for electricity. Why? Because the government should've subsidized horse and buggy for transportation, iron and wood for building, and wooden water wheels to make electricity. There wouldn't be a need because the all powerful all loving government should've stepped in and directly benefited the producer and kept children from living in the dark. We wouldn't have refrigerators because the government would've bought us all rations of ice..... surely this would benefit the ice makers? You wouldn't want poor people to have spoiled food would you?
Now, don't get me wrong and think I'm against charity. No, far from it. I WILLINGLY put money in the plate every week. I donate to the Salvation Army at Christmas and to other charitites from time to time. But the operative word is "willingly." When it is taken from me against my will it is theft. When it is borrowed from the Chinese and I'm supposed to repay it and my children and grandchildren are expected to repay it WITH INTEREST it is absolutely throw up in my mouth disgusting. Its an obamanation.
And in case you or anyone else has forgotten the GOVERNMENT WORKS FOR US; hence the other poster's remark about being asked. Its our money, its our children's money.... ask us. They work for us.... not the other way around. Our Forefathers, the Founders of this land fought a Revolution and allowed blood to run in the street for lesser infractions.......
But its all ok, because, according to you its for the children. How about if you can't feed them DON'T BREED THEM.
